Edmonton Update #1

Since arriving in Edmonton on Wednesday there has been changes made to my original treatment plan. I was going to start the hyperbaric oxygen therapy on Monday, but that is now being delayed a few weeks while we focus on easing into the treatment a bit more.

This is a good thing for my body, because the more you do all at once in the beginning, the harder it is on your body and the herxheimer reactions will be more intense (which make you temporarily much sicker).

But unfortunately this means I will need to be in Edmonton an additional 3 weeks, making my stay here 12 weeks rather than 9. This is necessary because the hyperbaric oxygen treatment for Lyme disease must be performed daily for 9 continuous weeks in a row in order for it to be successful.

Next week we will Lord willing start the new plan with more mild treatments and also do various individualized tests to determine what other treatments, supplements and medications my body needs, as well as do muscle testing, food sensitivity and allergy tests. This will help prepare my body for the more intense treatments coming up.

At this time we are thinking while I stay here the additional weeks at the end, our kids will possibly go home at the original time planned to finish up the school year.

Your prayers for us are so appreciated during this time! Thank you very much for all your support.

*Below are a couple pictures of our boys with their cousins and also a vision/encouragement/reminder-to-keep-a-good-perspective board put together and hung in my temporary room at my sisters place. Many of the images, bible verses, and quotes were compiled by friends&fam for reminders I might need to see during the toughest days of treatment. (Thanks you guys!) 💚
