More Pieces to the Puzzle

I received some lab results today from a hormone test Dr. C ordered for me. After finding out I had adenomyosis Dr. C strongly recommended we do saliva hormone testing as it is the most accurate way to test hormones and find out what's going on.

My cortisol is bottomed out, so adrenal fatigue is confirmed. Dr. C said for someone who has chronic diseases/ major stresses on the body the cortisol levels should be on the higher side, if they are low that indicates adrenal exhaustion; meaning they can no longer keep up with the demands. Here is a picture of the graph. Red line is high, green line is average, yellow line is low.

And as you can see in the graph below, my progesterone is VERY LOW. And this test was done when I was at my peak time of the month for progesterone. My doctor said that it's nonexistent low for my age. The most likely reason for this is my body is using up the progesterone resources for cortisol production. Which is still resulting in bottomed out cortisol levels. My body is exhausted.

My estrogen is on the low side. But what's most important is that the estrogen and progesterone are BALANCED. Even though my estrogen is not high, my progesterone being pretty much nonexistent means I am estrogen dominant. This dominance is what has been fueling my adenomyosis.

I will be starting progesterone replacement therapy and Dr. C is quite certain I'll start noticing improvements pretty quickly. Really hoping that is the case, and also that it helps my body build up some strength for my upcoming surgery and recovery.

Thanking the Lord for more answers.
